On February 10, 1963 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. came to Brooklyn Heights. He delivered an address at Plymouth Church that he called “The American Dream.” Dr. King worked on the piece and it evolved into his historic “I Have a Dream” speech, delivered later that year on August 28 in Washington D.C.
