Plans and description of a float device that would save the cargo [maybe the passengers] of any sinking steamer with which the device was fitted to. Anderson's design was inspired by the 1895 sinking of the steamer The Elbe by collision.
From what we can find it seems this invention was never adapted, and if it was, it wasn't widely used.
