[St. Louis]: [Black Artists Group], . 8.5 by 5.5 inches. Handbill on thin green stock printed in black with union bug at bottom. Paper tanned as expected with some minor chipping to the foredge, else a very good example of a rare survival. Item #54835
The short lived, but highly influential St. Louis based Black Artist Group was a multi disciplinary arts collective active from 1968-1972. Similar to Chicago's AACM in their exploration of the intersections of free jazz and the new black radicalism, they also incorporated theater and dance into their performances.
