A scrapbook of mostly newspaper clippings, possibly from the 'Chicago Defender' There are few articles with most of the clippings consisting of captioned images, heavy on sports and music with Joe Louis, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, and Marian Anderson all represented multiple times. Several clippings feature sports teams and coeds at traditionally black colleges; one outstanding clipping features three UCLA football players, two of whom broke the color barrier in their respective professional sports: Jackie Robinson and Kenny Washington.
